My Sister’s Place pleasantly surprised me. The menu wasn’t terribly ambitious but dinner was good and could meet your need for comfort food. Many of the places in Grand Marais offer typical bar fare but this was a step up.
Just polishing off my mountain of fries as I wrote about my first experience here. Great atmosphere and hometown feel are obvious when you walk in. No tables were available rightaway so we were promptly seated at the bar until a table opened up. Service has been excellent from start to finish. Drinks and appetizers were out right away. Bring your eating pants because the portions are huge. Huge hot wings, half plate of fries and my wife's fish meal... o my goodness. I am leaving stuffed and will be back soon. Too many good things on the menu to try in one sitting.
My husband and I loved the food. I ordered the Anna Banana Burger with wild rice soup. The burger was great and the soup was good, a bit less creamy then I expected. My husband order the patty melt and chili cheese fries. They were both delicious! Best chili cheese fries we’ve ever had. They use real (home made?) chili. We will definitely go back whenever we’re in the area again.
The best burgers in town! I have the 1/2lb twin patty burger with fries every time I am in Grand Marais. It is always busy, so if you have a big party be sure to get there as early as you can or be prepared to wait. Nice decorations, friendly staff, and best food ever!
Our waiter from Macedonia was friendly and helpful.
I had a calzone and my wife had a walleye sandwich. Both were tasty and not overly priced.
Enjoyed some bison burgers at this cozy spot, loved the vibe and our server was great! Food was good and came quickly, beer selection was fun, overall a great experience.
