Hughie's is the best! One of my favorite restaurants. The fish tacos (and everything else) are amazing. ☺️
Took some take out but the staff was so friendly and the place looked cozy, so it was tempting to stay! We got a burrito and a chimichanga both of which were tasty and good portions, although they don't come with sides so larger appetites might care to add something like chips and guac/queso, which was also on the menu. Overall happy with the experience!
Wonderful place! Been visiting the North Shore most every year since 1979. Most all of the places we have enjoyed eating have sorta of fell flat the last few trips. We decided to try Hughie's for a quick lunch for my Wife's birthday. We had one taco each and they were quite filling, and great, didn't give me indigestion like most all other Mexican food does. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place, and so welcoming of a staff. My Wife couldn't make up her mind whether or not to get a beer with her taco, so the Super Nice Lady in charge bought her a Dos XX for her birthday. This will be our new go to place for dining while in Grand Marais. Simply the Best. Thanks!
Delightful tacos! My wife had pork while I had beef. Both were excellent. The staff was friendly and obviously took pride in their food.
Look as a tourist up in Grand Marais I was skeptical of Mexican food way up here but this is the real deal tasty Mexican with a unique twist of having fry bread shells for their tacos that is not only interesting but downright delicious. This place is well worth stopping by and either eating in their good sized dining room or taking it to go and walk across the road to the Bay and hang out by the water.
