This Place was AMAZING! from the beautiful sites (#2 lakeside) to the very friendly staff that go out of there way to help you out. Great hiking very close and just a great family feel. We will be back!!!
Absolutely the best north woods experience ever period. Great staff, clean accommodations and a great shop. We are looking forward to our next visit!
I'm staying hear as I'm writing this reviw.
A lot to do onsite. Tons of activities and a nice lodge. Cozy and intimate for playing games, eating or just enjoying the lake view. Certainly a quiet place overall. Unfortunately we were woken up early one morning because of a ongoing yipping dog(when owners not in cabin) in adjoining cabin 25. Not pleasant at all. Cabins were well equipped. The shower was nice but the jets would not turn on for us. The bed was comfy. Our kitchenette was quaint. Our fireplace was very cozy. It was nice to be able to unplug from technology in our cabin. Our cabin was a bit overpriced for like cabins in numerous surrounding area. Restaurant staff were extremely tense but courteous. Please redescribe your smoked salmon dinner. Chopped up smoked salmon mixed in with penne noodles in a lemon sauce would of been a more accurate description. For me and my wife, not worth $25. The tortilla for the fish tacos were served from right out of the bag. Being in the restaurant industry, describing how the style in which the salmon is laid out is important. The grill offered was the only city park style grill on the resort, while the rest of the cabins had a regular portable grills. Ours was dirty as well when we first got there. Having pictures and being clear about describing how much of the lakeside views you can see from the cabin when selling on Booking.com would be very helpful for first timers. Cabin 24 was a view of the immediate shoreline because of the trees being too thick. A big disappointment for me. They did however offer a sitting platform by the lake with 2 chairs, to be shared by whoever got there first. I realize this is under new ownership, however clear communication would be appreciated in all areas mentioned. Please focus on treating the servers and bartenders better so that they can focus on the guest for I could tell something was wrong right away and it usually starts at the top.
My cabin is full of mice , cold shower , tv's do not work.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away to the northwoods, but still have some comforts like hot showers, WiFi, and a well-stocked store. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We went into our trip without a lot of plans, but they were able to suggest lots to do, both onsite and offsite and gave us the resources we needed. Good hiking and super affordable kayak rentals onsite! We stayed in a tent site (9) on lake and had great views. There were a few nights where it rained during our trip, but the lodge has a huge stock of board games to pass the time. Overall a great experience.
