Stayed in the bunkhouse one night and rented a canoe for five days. Very pleased with everything. Equipment was great. Loved the kevlar canoe! Carl was great to work with. Will use Rockwood again.
What a great place to help you schedule your BWCA adventure. This was my first trip, Carl was awesome from day one when we started planning, very informative, always attentive with email responses to our questions. Two days before our trip, we decided to arrive a day early, Carl helped us reroute to a new entry point that was available. Canoes are awesome, Carl and Mike were very helpful getting us going, went over the top to chase us down across the lake after we left behind our leech bucket, then even helped us with our first portage, why would he do this? He obviously loves what he does. I would never even consider using anyone else for my BWCA adventure.
BWCA entry 64, East bear skin to canoe lakes. July 2017. We outfitted with Rockwood Lodge for canoe and equipment package, 6 people, including the bunk house stay the night before. Carl and Mike are very attentive and helpful. Having several novice campers I must have emailed them 30 times, all with prompt answers and patients. Took us to landing and unloaded canoes and gear. All necessary gear was provided. 5 stars for people, 4 stars for equipment. Hoping for equipment upgrade/weather proofing soon. Sleeping bags were warm, but older style that could receive an upgrade to bigger sleeping bags. Some of us were sausages in them! Wish some other things were included in the gear package, namely paracord!!! Otherwise pleased with this company and would recommend.
