Beautiful newly renovated hotel. Beautiful big rooms with a great walkout deck with a veiw of the lake. Breakfast was awesome and the new Whirlpool was amazing. The beach is pretty though a little cold in October. The staff was very friendly and the beds were above and beyond comfortable. The heat and AC were controlled separately, though once we figured that out it was a comfortable temp.
Got a king suite here as part of a ski and stay package through Lutsen, it was about mid-range on price and the suite had some perks that justified the choice over our cheaper options. This place exceeded our expectations! The room was clean and roomy but cozy, with great amenities including a warm fireplace, huge in-room tub, great bathroom, comfy bed, mini fridge, and balcony on the lake - we could hear the waves from our bed! The complimentary breakfast was excellent, lots of options AND they changed up their egg, potato, and pastry options each day of our stay. The staff was friendly, and when advised we didn't need cleaning services they respected our privacy. Location couldn't be better, everywhere we ate was less than a mile away and we were still super close to lutsen (lots of closer hotels are in the middle of nowhere so you won't get the same flexibility in regards to dining or other activities). Looking forward to staying here again in the future!
We stayed there in early November and was our first time in the area. We could not have been more impressed. Newly renovated or remodeled the hotel was clean and the breakfast area was very upscale. There is also a bar for wine or beer that was a nice addition. The hotel perfectly situated for any north shore activity. Only a short ride to many state parks we will definitely be back again in the future.
I loved being right on the lake. We slept with the balcony door open so we could listen to the waves hitting the beach. The staff was awesome and ready to answer any questions. The room we were in was newly remodeled and it was lovely. We were within walking distance for shopping and to enjoy many wonderful restaurants. The hotel offered a really good free breakfast. We will definitely be staying there again!
This really is one of the best places I've stayed. I've been traveling a lot this year and especially have stayed at several Best Westerns. This one takes the cake, especially now that they've added on their magnificent breakfast room with fireplace, and upgraded their breakfast offerings. It was wonderful. But one thing I will say is that the rooms are perfect for two. Especially two writers attending a conference. Why more hotels don't have the desk perpendicular to the wall is beyond me! We had back to back laptops all weekend. And the views are spectacular. The staff was wonderful, it was great to hang out by the fireplace in the evening, and it is a great location. My home away from home!
