Had breakfast there on a Monday morning. 10-15 minute wait, but food was worth it and staff was very efficient at cleaning tables and placing/serving their orders, so you can get in and out in a reasonable time. Good sized portions, great taste. One pancake on the side was almost a meal in itself. You will not leave here hungry! Wait staff was very pleasant. Diner next to us had the Swedish pancake, and that will need to be what I order next time.
I've been here several times over the years, this is a must stop for any traveler going through the area. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service; the food is superb and comes out quickly even when it's filling up with customers. Even if you're just stopping in for a cup of coffee and a slice of pie, you won't be disappointed.

I was working in Grand Marais a few weeks back, my first time there, and needed to run to the lumber yard. Because it was raining, I decided to have a leisurely breakfast while waiting out the rain. The place was busy but the service was excellent as was the traditional Eggs Benedict. I left with a nice, warm and fuzzy feeling, very happy I stopped.
Always been one of my favorite places to eat. Today the food was barely warm and some bites were cool. we got a 50% discount but still paying for food we didn't eat. Never got my $3 milk and had to ask to have that removed. Water glass went dry and no refills coming. Only two other tables with people in the place so it was basically just sorry cooking and sorry service.
